I just recently started playing again. I went to set up a quarry and used the landmarks in this new version of tekkit and I can't set the actual size that I want. with the landmarks. The quarry doesn't build its frame on the red lines from the landmarks. I used to make the quarry 30X30 which is well in its maximum size limit.

You initially WANT water in your quarry. This will turn lava, which the quarry will skip over into obsidian and stone, which the quarry can handle. To remove it, just fill in the source blocks. I did this by hand in a 64x64 quarry, and only spent about an hour swimming around with a few stacks of cobble blocking up the source blocks.
When trying to power my quarry, using three Stirling Engines, I get one engine holding a steady green with 10 RF/t output, but the two others quickly turn read and break down, while only outputting 3RF/t. The quarry also mines increadibly slow, I do not know whether this is because of the engines ouput or because I placed it in a body of water.
